Job summary

Clarence Park Care Home in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join the kitchen team within a specialist complex care setting. You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness, follow food safety procedures and help deliver meals that meet residents\' dietary needs.

Deliveries, storage and kitchen organisation are part of the role. Experience in a kitchen is desirable but not essential; you will work as part of a team in a busy care environment and be committed to learning

Job description

Clarence Park Residential & Nursing Care Home is a well established service in Weston-super-Mare, located close to the seafront and set within a characterful Victorian townhouse. Supporting up to 43 residents, the home provides high quality nursing, respite and palliative care within a calm, welcoming and team focused environment where staff can build meaningful relationships and make a genuine difference every day.

Kitchen Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 0 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs.

You will assist with food preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure food safety procedures are followed at all times. Working as part of the team, you will help prepare meals that meet individual dietary needs, including modified or specialist diets where required.

You will also support with deliveries, storage and kitchen organisation, ensuring all areas are clean, safe and well maintained. Working in a structured environment, you will contribute to the smooth day to day running of the kitchen while supporting a positive dining experience for residents.
