Job summary

Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home in Taunton is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support high quality meals in a clean and well organised kitchen. You will help with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, assist with deliveries and stock, and work with the Chef to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

There is a consistent routine and an opportunity to develop experience in a supportive kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and reliability are essential.
• Good organisation and attention to detail are required.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is important.
• Good communication skills are valued.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen.
• Assist with food preparation and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation.

Job description

Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home is a modern, purpose built care home located on the peaceful northern outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. The home provides specialist Nursing, Dementia and Complex Care for up to 42 residents in a safe and supportive environment focused on dignity, wellbeing and person centred care.

Kitchen Assistant

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
