Job summary

Victoria Park Care Home in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the delivery of high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen. This is a hands-on role with 14 hours per week on days, working closely with the Chef and the wider team to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Must have a positive and reliable approach.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail are essential.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support food preparation and ensure meals are prepared to a high standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and ensure safe food handling.
  • Assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation.
  • Work closely with the Chef and wider team to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

About Victoria Park Care Home
Victoria Park Care Home is a 32 bed, purpose built care home located in the Stoke area of Coventry, West Midlands. Providing residential care for older people, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment where colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

  • Contracted to 14 hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
