Job summary

Cygnet Group is looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Broughton House in the United Kingdom. You’ll work 40 hours a week over 4 days (07.30–17.30).

You'll assist in preparing balanced meals, maintain kitchen cleanliness, rotate stock and support residents with a safe, caring dining environment. This position requires catering experience and a food hygiene certificate, with COSHH compliance and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting.
• Holder of a food hygiene certificate with good personal hygiene standards.
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room.
• Wash utensils, dishes & store properly.
• Rotate stock & put away deliveries.
• Maintain personal hygiene to comply with standards and regulations.
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment.
• Follow COSHH regulations when using chemicals.

Cygnet Group are looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant who is passionate about food and wants to make a difference, to join our team at Cygnet Broughton House.

You'll be working 40 hours a week, 4 days a week, 10 hours a day - 07.30 - 17.30, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.

Broughton House is a 29 bed specialist residential service for adults with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.

Your day-to-day..

• Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals
• Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Rotate stock & put away all deliveries
• Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
