Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Clifton in the United Kingdom is seeking a capable Bank Kitchen Assistant who cares about food and people. You’ll work flexible bank hours across a busy kitchen, assisting with meal preparation and delivering a positive dining experience for patients.

Applicants should have catering experience and a valid food hygiene certificate, be a good communicator and team player, and be prepared for enhanced DBS checks while upholding high cleanliness standards and COSHH safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties.

• Rotate stock and put away deliveries.
• Maintain personal hygiene per standards and regulations.
• Handle and store kitchen equipment per procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

You'll be working flexible bank hours a week at Cygnet Hospital Clifton, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.

Cygnet Hospital Clifton is a 25 bed specialist low secure service for men with a personality disorder, who may also present with complex mental health needs.

Your day-to-day...

• Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals
• Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Rotate stock & put away all deliveries
• Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

• Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
