Job summary

Cygnet Wast Hills is hiring a Kitchen Assistant. You’ll work 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota, assisting with meal prep, hygiene, and kitchen duties to support people in our care.

Starting pay is £13.15 per hour with increases to £13.45 after 6 months, plus career progression and employee benefits. Applicants should be prepared for an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, preferably in care settings.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly.
• Commitment to high standards of hygiene and safety.

Cygnet Group are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Wast Hills.

Working 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota (4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm), you'll help prepare and serve meals, maintain high hygiene standards and contribute to a welcoming environment for the people we support.

Cygnet Wast Hills provides dedicated, person-centred support to men with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs in a robust environment.

The service has a number of independent and communal living spaces for the individuals we support, to maximise opportunities to progress through their care pathway towards greater independence.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals
  Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
  Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
