Job summary

Advinia Health Care’s Kingsway Care Home is seeking a General Assistant to support the kitchen team. You will help prepare meals, assist with deliveries, and maintain a clean, safe working environment within a healthcare setting.

Working 20 hours per week, you’ll join a dedicated team, benefit from social interactions, and access training opportunities. Advinia Health Care offers wellbeing support, a pension scheme and free parking to help you develop your career.

Responsibilities

• Assist catering staff with preparation and cooking of meals in line with policies and procedures.
• Serve residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Ensure kitchen and related areas meet hygiene standards and comply with policies.

As a General Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Serving Residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.

• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.

• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.

• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals 

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)

• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP

• Experience of working within similar role.

•  Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
