Job summary

Advinia Health Care is hiring a General Assistant at Goldielea Care Home to support the kitchen team. You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain clean and safe working environments, and assist with deliveries. The role offers a calm workload and opportunities for career development.

You will work 27 hours per week with the catering team, reporting to the Head Chef, and will interact with residents, staff and visitors. DBS/PVG disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills are required.
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP is desirable.
• Experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist catering staff with preparation and cooking of meals according to policies and procedures.
• Serve residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Help the catering team meet hygiene standards and company policies.
• Liaise with the wider team, including dietitians, regarding dietary and planned meals.

As a General Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Serving Residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.

• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.

• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.

• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)

• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP

• Experience of working within similar role.

•  Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
