Job summary

Advinia Health Care is seeking a General Assistant for Oxford Manor Care Home. You will support chefs with meal prep, serve residents and staff, maintain storage and hygiene, and assist with deliveries. The role offers a calm environment with opportunities for career development.

You will report to the Head Chef, join a dedicated kitchen team, and be part of a network of services across England. DBS/PVG checks apply.

Qualifications

• COSHH and HACCP knowledge.
• Experience in similar catering roles.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Preparation and cooking of meals following company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist catering staff with preparation and cooking of meals.
• Serve residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure areas and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
• Ensure kitchen and related areas meet hygiene standards per policy.
• Liaise with dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals.

As a General Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Serving Residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.

• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.

• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.

• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals 

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)

• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP

• Experience of working within similar role.

•  Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
