As a Kitchen Assistant, your responsibilities include helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will love. You'll uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters on equipment, or cleaning spills, your focus will always be on Resident wellbeing.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience, but what matters most is that you have either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or the willingness to pursue one. Good record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are a must.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and to seek advice and escalate concerns as needed.
