Job summary

La Fontana Care Home in Martock is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily meal service in a clean, safe kitchen. You will help with food preparation, stock, deliveries and hygiene, working closely with the Chef and team to maintain high standards.

This hands-on role includes weekend shifts on an alternating pattern and a 40-hour week at £12.71 per hour, plus DBS paid, pension and uniform provided, with 5.6 weeks annual leave for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Good communication skills.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of high-quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen.
• Assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation.
• Work with the Chef and team to keep the kitchen running smoothly and safely at all times.
• Be available to work alternate weekends.

La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home is nestled on the outskirts of Martock, surrounded by the stunning Somerset countryside. This innovative, purpose-built home provides specialist Dementia and Nursing care for up to 76 residents.

Kitchen Assistant

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
