Job summary

La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care for residents in a purpose-built setting near Martock. The role includes shift leadership, medication oversight, and accurate record-keeping to maintain continuity of care.

You will work alternate weekends and be supported by a team dedicated to compassionate, professional care and strong family communication.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, person-centred care.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift and ensure high standards.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents' wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and liaise with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Job description

La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home is nestled on the outskirts of Martock, surrounded by the stunning Somerset countryside. This innovative, purpose-built home provides specialist Dementia and Nursing care for up to 76 residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 36 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
