Job summary

Sandmere Care Home in Margate is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation and delivery in a clean, safe kitchen. You will assist with stock organisation and deliveries, working with the Chef to keep the kitchen running smoothly and safely.

The role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build experience in a well organized kitchen environment. Part-time hours (16 per week) with benefits including DBS, pension, uniform and generous annual leave.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Job description

A purpose-built care home located in the heart of the Margate community in Kent. Our 68-bed luxury service provides exceptional levels of Residential Care, Nursing Care, Dementia Care, and Respite Care

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 16 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organized kitchen environment.
