Job summary

Lakelands Lodge Care Home in Fleetwood offers residential, nursing and dementia care. We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help deliver high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen and to support deliveries, storage and stock organisation in a busy, well organised team.

You will work closely with the Chef and colleagues, contributing to a smooth daily operation and a positive dining experience for residents. This role includes alternate weekend work and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries and stock organisation.

Job description

Set in the historic Victorian town of Fleetwood, Lakelands Lodge is a modern, purpose-built home offering residential, nursing, and dementia care for up to 78 residents. With stunning views over a tranquil boating lake and the Irish Sea, our location provides an inspiring backdrop for the work we do every day.

• 12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
