Job summary

Healthcare Homes Holdings Limited is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for The Malthouse in Gillingham. You will support the chef with meal preparation, help deliver meals, and contribute to a warm, home-like dining experience for residents.

No prior kitchen experience is required as full induction and training are provided; the role offers part-time hours, a sympathetic team, and opportunities to progress within Healthcare Homes.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or hospitality preferred.
• Willing to learn and follow hygiene standards.
• Reliable and punctual.

Kitchen Assistant

The Malthouse, Gillingham

£12.71 per hour

12 hours per week 7:30am - 2pm (includes alternate weekends)

Specialising in residential support for the elderly, The Malthouse is a traditional building with a quirky and charming interior set in beautiful grounds with a courtyard and a private rear garden. Inside the home is a warm and homely atmosphere, and you’ll be greeted by a care team who pride themselves on friendliness and caring.

What would a typical day look like?

• Supporting the chef with meal preparation and delivery
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment at all times
• Following good kitchen practices and basic food hygiene standards

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in working within a kitchen and experience is not essential as we can provide you with a thorough induction and training programme to further develop your skills, including progression to become a chef, along with the support and guidance of a well-established team who truly value their colleagues.
