Job summary

Pilgrims’ Friend Society is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join Furze Hill House Care Home’s Ancillary Team in North Walsham. You will assist with meal preparation and serving, helping create a welcoming, homely environment for our residents.

This role offers flexible hours (35 hours per week or 28 hours per week with some weekend shifts), focuses on hygiene and teamwork, and requires empathy for older people. Catering experience is preferred and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with older people and empathy
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely
• Ability to work as part of a team to provide excellent service
• Well-organised, practical and adaptable

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and serving meals and refreshments
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Support safe food storage and temperature recording
• Deliver meals to residents with a friendly, caring approach
• Work alongside the Catering Supervisor to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Contribute to a positive, homely environment in line with our care values

Shifts available: 35 hours per week or 28 hours per week (includes some weekend shifts)
