Job summary

Cornerstone Healthcare Services Limited is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the in-house catering service for residents, preparing meals and beverages and assisting with clean-up and service.

You will clean equipment and facilities, ensure hygiene standards and assist with safe food handling while working closely with care staff and residents’ visitors.

Qualifications

• 12 months kitchen experience in a similar role within the UK (essential)
• Effective written and verbal communication with colleagues, residents and visitors (essential)
• Commitment to learn about residents as individuals and to create ideas to improve life for residents

Responsibilities

• Support the catering service to residents in the home
• Prepare and set up meals and drinks
• Clean crockery, cutlery, utensils, containers and small-scale equipment
• Clean floors, work surfaces, furnishings and related equipment
• Comply with Health and Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures

What do you need?

• 12 months kitchen experience working in a similar role within the UK (essential)
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, residents and their visitors
• A commitment to learn about residents as individuals and to create ideas to improve life for the residents
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal (essential)

What hours will you work?

Shift times - 08:00 until 18:00.

Total average of 35 hours per week.

You will work on a 3/4 shift pattern and weekend work is required. Unpaid breaks.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the catering service to residents in the home.
• Preparing and set up meals and drinks.
• Cleaning crockery, cutlery, utensils, containers and small-scale equipment manually and through machine.
• Cleaning floors, work surfaces, furnishings and related equipment manually and by use of machine.
• Complying with regulations in respect of Health and Safety at work, COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures.
