Job summary

Lakelands Lodge Care Home in Fleetwood is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the delivery of high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen environment. This is a hands-on role with regular 40-hour weeks, day shifts, and a duty to work alternate weekends.

You will help with food preparation, maintain hygiene, assist with deliveries and stock, and work closely with the Chef and team to ensure meals are prepared efficiently to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach to work.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Set in the historic Victorian town of Fleetwood, Lakelands Lodge is a modern, purpose-built home offering residential, nursing, and dementia care for up to 78 residents. With stunning views over a tranquil boating lake and the Irish Sea, our location provides an inspiring backdrop for the work we do every day.

• 12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
