Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd in Bath is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for a term-time, part-time role (35 hours per week). The position is based at a private school in Bath, with 5 days out of 7 and free on-site parking.

You’ll work with fresh seasonal ingredients, support the chefs, handle food preparation and customer service, and follow hygiene and allergen controls. DBS checks apply; safeguarding procedures in place.

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work well in a team, providing food and a great service.
• Produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following brand standards.
• Ensure food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Follow Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen controls.

Kitchen Assistant Bath Contract: Part Time, Permanent

Salary: 13.50

Hours: 35 per week

A mixed private school for both boarding and day pupils. Situated in Bath, Somerset. Catering for 750 students and teachers daily, we offer a core feeding of breakfast, lunch and supper. This is a term-time only contract. This is a 7-day operation so working pattern would be 5 out of 7. Additional benefit of this location is free on-site parking.

We are looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at one of our fabulous locations in Bath.

You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.

Key responsibilities

• To work well in a team, providing food and a great service
• To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
• Excellent customer service skills

• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
