Job summary

Baxterstorey is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Burton on a busy site on a temporary contract. You will assist chefs with basic food preparation, plating, and serving customers while helping to keep all kitchen areas clean and hygienic.

No prior kitchen experience is required as training will be provided, and you will work as part of a team delivering exceptional hospitality in a fast-paced environment. Meals are provided on shift, with other venue perks on offer.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation and plating
• Serve customers and handle cashless tills
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
• Operate dishwashing equipment and wash kitchenware
• Assist with deliveries and stock storage
• Support stock rotation and report low inventory levels
• Follow all food safety and health regulations
• Filling vending machines and keeping to brand standards

• Assisting chefs with basic food preparation (e.g. chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, plating dishes)
• Serving customers and use of cashless tills
• Keeping all kitchen areas clean, hygienic, and organised at all times
• Operating dishwashing equipment and handwashing kitchenware
• Handling deliveries and ensuring stock is stored properly
• Emptying bins, cleaning floors, and maintaining general hygiene
• Following all food safety and health regulations
• Helping with stock rotation and reporting low inventory levels
• Filling vending machines
