Job summary

Windyhall Care Home in Ayr offers a warm, homely atmosphere with a dedicated kitchen team delivering high-quality meals in a well organised kitchen. The Kitchen Assistant role supports food preparation, cleanliness and stock management, ensuring meals are prepared safely and efficiently for residents.

Hours are 16 per week at £12.71 per hour, with PVG, pension and uniform provided. 5.6 weeks annual leave (full-time equivalent) and a supportive team environment help you develop your skills in

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Positive, reliable and organised with good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen.
• Assist with food preparation and stock organisation.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and assist with deliveries and storage.
• Work closely with the Chef and wider team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Contribute to a consistent, well organised kitchen environment.

Kitchen Assistant

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 16 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
