Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council in Kendal is seeking a Technical Services Officer to provide technical and administrative support for planning, building control, and street naming & numbering services. You will ensure accurate registration and efficient processing of applications while delivering high-quality customer service.

The role reports to the Technical Services team leader and requires a detail-oriented, proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong technical and administrative skills with experience handling complex data and case management.
• Understanding of planning and building control processes (or willingness to develop).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with IT systems and databases to manage information.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support across regulatory functions.
• Register and process applications and requests accurately and efficiently.
• Deliver excellent customer service to applicants and colleagues.
• Support planning, building control, and street naming & numbering services.
• Work under supervision of Technical Services team leader.
