Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting for a Building Control Technical Support Officer to join a local authority in Greater Manchester on an initial 6-month contract. Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support to the Building Control team and process enquiries.
• Assist with registration, validation and management of Building Regulations applications.
• Maintain records and update Building Control databases and case management systems.
• Liaise with applicants, architects, developers and the public on Building Control matters.
• Support Building Control Surveyors with documentation and progression of applications.
• Assist with preparation and issuing of statutory notices, certificates and documentation.
• Ensure enquiries and applications are handled in line with procedures and timescales.

Building Control Technical Support Officer

Location: Greater Manchester

Rate: £25 per hour

Contract: Initial 6 months

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Carrington West is currently recruiting for a Building Control Technical Support Officer to join a local authority in Greater Manchester on an initial 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical support professional to join a busy Building Control team, providing essential administrative and technical assistance to support the effective delivery of the council's statutory Building Control functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and administrative support to the Building Control team, ensuring the efficient processing of applications and enquiries.
• Assist with the registration, validation and management of Building Regulations applications.
• Maintain accurate records and update Building Control databases and case management systems.
• Liaise with applicants, architects, developers and members of the public regarding Building Control matters.
• Support Building Control Surveyors with documentation, correspondence and the progression of applications.
• Assist with the preparation and issuing of statutory notices, certificates and other relevant documentation.
• Ensure enquiries and applications are handled efficiently and in accordance with relevant procedures and statutory timescales.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience in a technical support or administrative role within Building Control or a similar local authority regulatory service.
• Good understanding of Building Control processes and associated administrative procedures.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and workloads.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with internal teams, external professionals and members of the public.
• Good IT skills, including experience using databases and case management systems.
