Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Justice Social Worker to support individuals in the justice system within the Cambuslang/Rutherglen Locality Team, Lanark. The role involves assessments, intervention planning, and collaboration with partner agencies to promote public protection and desistance from offending.

Requirements include a Degree in Social Work and SSSC registration. The post includes working with individuals convicted of various offences, including domestic and sexual offences,

Qualifications

• This post requires a Degree in Social Work or equivalent and SSSC registration.
• Experience in writing reports within a justice or social work setting.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles.
• Ability to undertake PVG checks and work with ViSOR.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of service users' needs, strengths and risks.
• Manage a diverse caseload and coordinate interventions according to requirements.
• Prepare high-quality Justice Social Work reports for Courts and forums.
• Conduct risk assessments and inform risk management plans.
• Develop and review case management plans to support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.
• Collaborate with justice partners, health, housing and third-sector organisations.
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
• Contribute to public protection and multi-agency risk management processes.
