Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting Justice Workers to support Court Team, Justice Pathways Service and Justice Practice Team across Edinburgh Justice Services, delivering interventions to promote community safety.

You will assess individuals attending court, supervise Bail, provide reports, contribute to groupwork and liaise with partner agencies. SVQ3 in Health and Social Care required; PVG scheme checks and overseas criminal record checks where applicable.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• PVG Scheme check required; Overseas Criminal Record Check if spent >3 months abroad.

Responsibilities

• Assess and support people appearing at Court from custody and presenting at Court Social Work Office, including reports to Court.
• Supervise people subject to Bail Supervision and support compliance with bail conditions.
• Provide community outreach support and contribute to interventions and groupwork.
• Liaise with partner agencies and other teams within Justice Services.
• Complete Home Detention Curfew Assessments where applicable.
• Contribute to development and delivery of interventions in Courts.
