Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Justice Social Worker in Cambuslang/Rutherglen Locality Team for up to 12 months. You will assess service users, develop intervention plans and collaborate with multi‑agency partners to support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.

The role requires a Social Work degree and SSSC registration, with duties including risk assessment and report writing for Courts and agencies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification is essential.
• Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is required.
• Experience with report writing in a justice or social work setting is preferred.
• Non Personal Police Vetting level 2 is required to use ViSOR.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of service users' needs, strengths and risks.
• Manage a diverse caseload and coordinate interventions in line with legislation and organisational requirements.
• Prepare and submit high-quality Justice Social Work reports for Courts and other forums.
• Conduct risk assessments to inform risk management plans.
• Develop, implement and review case management plans to support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.
• Work with justice partners, health services, housing providers and third-sector organisations.
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
• Contribute to public protection and multi‑agency risk management processes.
