Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a proactive Junior Town Planner to join their Winchester team. You will assist with planning applications, conduct research and policy reviews, and support senior planners across a diverse portfolio of development projects.

You will liaise with authorities and stakeholders, monitor policy changes, and contribute to planning appeals. The role offers hybrid working, strong training, and a clear path toward RTPI chartership as you develop professionally.

Qualifications

• A degree in Town Planning or related subject is required.
• Progress towards MRTPI or commitment to chartership is desirable.
• Experience in planning within consultancy, local government or related fields is advantageous.
• Strong written and analytical abilities and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and submitting planning applications.
• Conduct planning research, site appraisals and policy reviews.
• Support senior planners across development projects.
• Prepare planning statements, reports and supporting documents.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and stakeholders.
• Monitor planning policies and emerging development plans.
• Assist with planning appeals and development management matters.
• Support project delivery from instruction through to completion.
• Develop knowledge across a diverse range of planning projects.
