Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to support a leading property and land consultancy in Cambridge by recruiting a Junior Town Planner. You will assist with planning applications, conduct research, and support senior colleagues across a varied portfolio, gaining exposure to developers, landowners and planning authorities.

The role offers hybrid working, a competitive salary (£30,000–£40,000), and clear progression toward MRTPI chartership, with excellent training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Town Planning or related subject.
• Ideally working towards MRTPI or progression toward chartership.
• Some planning experience in consultancy, local government or similar.
• Organised, proactive and commercially aware.
• Strong written and analytical communication.
• Keen to develop technical planning knowledge and career.
• Collaborative team player with ambition to grow.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide range of planning applications and development projects.
• Undertake planning research and provide support on planning matters.
• Assist with preparation of planning statements, reports and documentation.
• Support senior colleagues with client instructions and project delivery.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and stakeholders.
• Monitor planning policies and emerging development plans.
• Assist with site appraisals and planning assessments.
• Gain experience across diverse sectors and projects.
• Contribute to growth and success of the planning team.
