Job summary

Penguin Recruitment in Cambridge is seeking a Junior Town Planner to join their planning team. You will assist with planning applications, conduct research, prepare documentation, and engage with local authorities and stakeholders.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of projects and close collaboration with experienced planners. Ideal candidates hold a Town Planning degree and are keen to progress towards MRTPI chartership.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related subject.
• Keen to progress towards MRTPI chartership.
• Able to demonstrate some planning experience in consultancy, local government or another planning environment.
• Organised, proactive and commercially aware.
• Confident written communicator with analytical skills.
• Keen to develop technical planning knowledge and career.
• Comfortable collaborating in a wider team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide range of planning applications and development projects.
• Undertake planning research and provide support on planning matters.
• Assist with the preparation of planning statements, reports and other documentation.
• Support senior colleagues with client instructions and project delivery.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Monitor planning policies and emerging development plans.
• Assist with site appraisals and planning assessments.
• Gain experience across a varied range of sectors and development projects.
• Contribute to the continued growth and success of the planning team.
