Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking an Assistant Structural Engineer for its Birmingham office. The role offers development-focused training, mentoring and CPD in a genuinely multidisciplinary environment, with exposure across education, commercial, residential, and transport sectors.

You’ll work alongside senior engineers, attend site visits and gain hands-on experience toward chartership, with a modern, city-centre office and hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a 2:1 or above.
• Post-graduate experience within building structures.
• Exposure to steel and concrete design.
• Familiarity with Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Some experience of foundation design.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software and BIM.
• Desire to develop technically and progress towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design in steel and concrete.
• Prepare calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Assist with site visits, inspections and structural surveys.
• Collaborate with Architects and MEP Engineers in a multidisciplinary team.

Education

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (2:1 or above)
