Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Birmingham office. You will lead structural design and delivery across sectors, manage client relationships, and mentor junior engineers within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include directing projects from concept to construction, coordinating with design teams, and ensuring compliance with Eurocodes and UK Building Regulations. Hybrid working and career development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is essential.
• Several years' experience in a UK structural engineering consultancy.
• Ability to lead projects and manage client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, timber and masonry design.
• Experience producing structural calculations using industry-standard software.
• Good understanding of Eurocodes, British Standards and UK Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and technical delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
• Manage day-to-day coordination of projects, ensuring programmes and deliverables are achieved.
• Represent the business at client meetings and site visits.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with BIM technicians.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and deliver high-quality technical documentation.
