Job summary

The Lowry Theatre in Salford is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to help deliver high-quality, well-presented food across our hospitality operation. This practical role suits someone confident handling kitchen sections, staying calm during busy service, and ready to progress in a dynamic cultural venue.

You will work with the Executive Head Chef and senior culinary team to support preparation and service, contribute to stock control, menu development, food costing and waste reduction, and mentor

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Ability to lead by example and support junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and support junior chefs and kitchen colleagues to build skills and consistent working practices.
• Support preparation and service, maintain high standards of quality and presentation, and adapt to changing operational needs.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, menu development, food costing and waste reduction, ensuring product quality and commercial performance.
• Maintain food safety and allergen management with clear communication to front-of-house and other teams.
