Poco Lounge, part of Loungers, is hiring a Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. The role offers up to £13.30/hr plus tips, paid breaks, staff meals on every shift, and 50% off food and drinks from day one.

This is an ideal step for a Chef de Partie, Senior Chef, or line chef seeking more responsibility. You’ll support the Head Chef and Sous Chef, help keep the kitchen running smoothly, and grow into a senior kitchen role as you develop skills and confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with fresh ingredients and able to demonstrate strong kitchen skills (food prep hot and cold, cleaning).
• Strong knowledge of allergens, kitchen essentials and food safety practices.
• Self-motivated, able to work at pace with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and keep prep on track.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen and uphold high food standards.
• Own your section, manage prep, cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
• Follow allergen processes and ensure kitchen is compliant and safe.
• Help develop newer chefs and share kitchen skills.
• Know dish specs inside out and ensure plates go out to spec.
