Job summary

Pico Lounge, part of Loungers, is hiring a Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. You’ll support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and ensure every dish leaves the pass to the highest standard.

We offer up to £13.30/hr + tips, paid breaks, a free meal on every shift, and 50% discount on food and drinks from day one across all Loungers brands. Ideal for an experienced Chef de Partie or Senior Chef ready to take the next step.

Qualifications

• Experience working with fresh ingredients and ability to demonstrate strong kitchen skills (food prep hot and cold, cleaning, knife skills, good hygiene practices)
• Knowledge of best practices for allergens and kitchen safety
• Self-motivated with ability to work at pace and with limited supervision
• A natural team player who leads from the front and cares about food quality
• Demonstrated reliability: shows up on time and commits to shifts
• Experience in busy kitchen environments and ability to adapt to fast-paced service

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and ensure prep is done for each day
• Help maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen and uphold high food standards
• Own your section, manage prep & par, cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
• Follow allergen processes at all times and ensure kitchen safety
• Support and mentor newer chefs to develop skills and confidence
• Know dish specs inside out and ensure every plate is cooked to spec
