Job summary

Loungers’ Debrito Lounge, a local café bar, is hiring a Junior Sous Chef. You’ll support the Head Chef and Sous Chef, helping the kitchen deliver great shifts and ensuring every dish is to spec. The role offers hourly pay up to £13.30 with tips, plus staff meals and discounts from day one.

This is a great step for an experienced Chef de Partie or Senior Chef looking to take on more responsibility, with clear career pathways and holiday periods off.

Qualifications

• Experience working with fresh ingredients and strong kitchen skills (food prep hot and cold, cleaning, knife skills, good hygiene practices)
• Self-motivated and able to work at pace with limited supervision
• Strong knowledge of allergens, kitchen essentials, and food safety

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and prep for each day
• Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen and uphold high food standards
• Take ownership of your section and ensure every plate goes out to spec
