About Us: The Jetty is THE leading seafood restaurant brand in the region. Our Southampton restaurant is a renowned 2 AA Rosette restaurant with ambitions to reach further towards national and international awards. We are looking for the right junior sous to help us achieve this. Situated in the vibrant Ocean Village Marina our kitchen team have a reputation for culinary excellence with fresh, local seafood for almost a decade, Lead by Alex Aitken who you will be working alongside. The Jetty offer is unique and inspired by its locality of coastal surroundings and fabulous on-land produce. Exceptional hospitality is a bedrock of our operation and so the complete experience of ambience, service aligned with best in class food cooked and presented to perfection is our aim.

With strong foundations in place, we’re searching for someone who brings energy, creativity, and a desire to develop both themselves and their craft.

As Junior Sous Chef, you’ll support the senior kitchen team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. You’ll be hands-on with food preparation, help lead a section of the kitchen, and play a key role in maintaining the high standards our guests expect. You'll also have the chance to contribute to menu development and be part of an environment where innovation is celebrated and learning is constant.

Salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and inspire the kitchen team to deliver outstanding food quality, presentation, and consistency.

Assist in creating seasonal, innovative menus that celebrate fresh, locally sourced, and sustainable ingredients—especially seafood.

Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations, adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.

Foster a positive, supportive working environment where team development, including apprentices and junior chefs, is encouraged.

Work closely with the Head Chef and senior leadership to ensure smooth kitchen operations and an exceptional guest experience.

Contribute to maintaining and enhancing The Jetty’s reputation as one of the South Coast’s leading dining destinations.
