Junior Scouting Data Analyst

Location: Manchester, GB

Full Time / Part Time: Full Time

Contract Type: Permanent

Based in Manchester, this full-time permanent role offers the chance to play a key part in the accuracy, consistency and ongoing development of City Football Group’s scouting data. You will help maintain a high-quality internal scouting platform that supports decision-making across the network.

Who We Are

Founded in 2013, City Football Group is the world's leading private owner and operator of football clubs, with teams across the globe connected by a shared belief in doing things differently. Alongside our clubs, we invest in football-related businesses and build partnerships that help the game, and the communities around it, thrive. Everything we do is guided by our purpose: empowering better lives through football. Rooted in more than a century of "City" football, we are proud of the role our clubs play locally and globally, creating positive impact on and off the pitch.

Within Group Talent, we support football decision-making through data, scouting insight and platform development. Our work depends on reliable information, thoughtful processes and close collaboration, helping scouts and wider football stakeholders work with confidence and clarity.

The Role

This is a hands-on role at the heart of CFG’s scouting data operations. You will help ensure information within the internal scouting platform is accurate, structured and consistently maintained, supporting the smooth running of a system that underpins football insight across the organisation.

Day to day, you will use admin tools and SQL to carry out data updates, quality checks and troubleshooting, while identifying and resolving issues quickly and methodically. You will help maintain clean, dependable records, support process improvements and contribute to the ongoing development of a platform that needs to perform well for a global user base.

You will work closely with scouts, scout managers, IT and other internal partners, translating issues into practical actions and clear documentation. The role suits someone who enjoys structured problem-solving, takes pride in the detail and is keen to build their capability in data operations within an elite football environment.

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience using SQL to extract, update and manipulate data with care and accuracy.
  • Ability to investigate data issues, identify root causes and follow problems through to resolution.
  • A proactive, improvement-minded approach to solving problems and refining processes.
  • Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage structured, detail-focused work effectively.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with confidence working collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
  • An eagerness to learn, develop and build capability within a data-focused football environment.
