Job description

Based in Manchester, this Academy-focused role will help build Manchester City Women's talent-ID function from the ground up. Working across live scouting, video analysis and market intelligence, you will identify and track emerging players who can strengthen the Academy pathway and support the long-term future of the first team.

Who We Are

Manchester City Women is a team driven by ambition, belief and a desire to keep pushing the game forward. Founded in 1988 and relaunched in 2014, we have grown into a consistent force in the women's game, competing at the highest level in the UK and Europe. Progress, performance and pride sit at the heart of everything we do. With Mancunian roots and a global outlook, we are shaped by our Fans and driven by a long-term vision, from developing future talent to supporting the communities we call home. Together, we are building what comes next, the City way.

Within Manchester City Women Football Performance, our Academy recruitment work plays an important part in building the next generation of players. This new role will help establish the talent-ID function from the ground up, creating the systems, coverage and reporting that support informed decisions across the Academy and wider pathway.

The Role

Manchester City Women are continuing to invest in and grow our Scouting and Recruitment structure as we build a world-class, connected talent-identification function.

We are seeking an Emerging Talent Scout to play a central role in identifying and developing the next generation of players for Manchester City Women. Working across priority UK and international markets, the role will support Academy recruitment, the Next-Gen programme and future First Team planning.

This is an opportunity to help create clear, ambitious pathways for high-potential young talent, from Academy football into Next-Gen, loan opportunities and, ultimately, the First Team environment. The successful candidate will combine outstanding player identification and projection skills with a strong understanding of player development, market intelligence and long-term squad building.

Working closely with colleagues across Academy, Next-Gen, First Team, performance and analysis, you will help ensure that Manchester City Women continues to identify, recruit and develop the best young players in the UK and around the world.

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in talent identification, player development analysis or recruitment within professional football.
  • Ability to project player development and distinguish current performance from future upside.
  • Knowledge of academy, youth or emerging-player markets, preferably within women's football.
  • Clear and effective written communication skills, with confidence producing evidence-based reports and recommendations.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail when managing watchlists, longlists and scouting records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, analysts and sporting staff, and willingness to travel extensively, including internationally where relevant.
