Job description

About The Role

Jaded London is seeking a dynamic and proactive Junior Merchandiser or an experienced Assistant Merchandiser to join our growing Buying and Merchandising team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking, ambitious individual to manage the Womenswear and Swimwear departments, bringing key forecasting, planning, and trading skills.

Your focus will be on providing strong trade analysis, suggestions, and actions for Jaded London, Jaded Swim, and Jaded Unisex, managing daily, weekly, and seasonal actions. You will collaborate closely with all departments to align product strategy across the business.

Key responsibilities include owning the WSSI, managing intake and OTB, driving and adapting product strategies in-season with product-facing departments, and leading seasonal strategy plans and frameworks. Excellent communication skills are essential to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external supply chain partners.

We are looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong problem solver.

Roles & Responsibilities
  1. Accurately update and forecast WSSI and category WSSI, highlighting opportunities and risks to sales, stock, and intake. Complete monthly reforecasts with key rationale and actions for the Head of Trading and Finance, prioritizing actions with buying, merchandising, and production teams.
  2. Present weekly trade updates for Womenswear and Swimwear, communicating highlights and lowlights based on data insights, with clear actions for all departments.
  3. Maintain daily awareness of trading performance, especially around collection launches, and adapt intake and stock management accordingly. Drive analysis and insights creatively to inform decisions.
  4. Follow up on trade actions with departments like Ecommerce, Social, Logistics, Production, Design, and Suppliers, providing feedback and suggestions for future strategies.
  5. Own linecards and forecast buys, ensuring maximum availability and healthy coverage on bestsellers.
  6. Forecast size ratios for new styles, analyze sizing and returns regularly, and suggest price adjustments with strong rationale considering margin, seasonality, and discounts.
  7. React proactively to bestsellers and slow sellers, negotiating with suppliers to optimize outcomes and linking actions to WSSI reforecasting.
  8. Devise seasonal strategy packs and buy plans, presenting to founders and product teams, and monitor trading in-season to make reactive amendments.
  9. Manage critical deadlines and communicate effectively across teams to meet seasonal and trading targets, especially for short shelf-life products and key trading dates.
  10. Build relationships with suppliers, understanding supply chain capacities, freight impacts on margins, and key calendar dates.
  11. Review intake levels, report potential risks, and suggest freight or logistics adjustments, working closely with warehouses.
  12. Collaborate with buying and design to assess risks and opportunities related to assortment, categories, customer profiles, and margins.
  13. Position and trade pop-up shops, working with external partners and internal teams to maximize revenue.
  14. Build relationships with wholesale partners, understanding their trading climates and identifying opportunities to enhance performance.
About You
  • Proven experience as a Junior Merchandiser or Assistant Merchandiser.
  • Strong commercial awareness and trading mindset, with the ability to trade reactively and creatively in-season.
  • Passion for the Jaded London brand and the fashion industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills, critical path management, and foresight to maximize opportunities.
  • Experience with WSSI, intake, OTB, forecasting, and planning, including range building, markdowns, and buy quantification.
  • Leadership qualities, positive attitude, and growth mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and innovative in process improvements.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Effective prioritization and problem-solving abilities, always offering ideas and solutions.
