Description

Keoghs is the leading provider of legal and claims solutions to insurers, businesses, and other suppliers to the insurance sector.

The department handles pursuing subrogated recoveries on behalf of various insurer clients. This is a new role within our post-litigation team. The role's purpose is to effectively manage a portfolio of Delegated (DA) litigated cases where no defence has been received, ensuring damages and costs are recovered, and, where appropriate, requesting judgments in a timely manner and referring cases to enforcement if necessary. Additionally, there will be a small allocation of liability-admitted vehicle damage-only claims to facilitate training in handling defended claims and provide a progression route.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Organising, prioritising, and handling workload in line with standard operating procedures to meet critical dates, KPIs, and SLAs.
  2. Managing the litigation process to ensure KPIs and SLAs are met, including:
    • Adhering to court deadlines
    • Drafting court documents
    • Applying for judgment where applicable
    • Negotiating quantum and settlement
    • Ensuring prompt payment of damages and costs by defendants
    • Instructing enforcement where necessary
  3. Using the case management system effectively to ensure:
    • Reserving and updating all key information promptly
    • Meeting critical dates
    • Documenting actions/strategies via file notes
    • Labeling documents clearly
    • Populating relevant client MI for accurate case status updates
  4. Delivering quality work that meets audit standards
  5. Driving personal development
  6. Contributing to team efforts by collaborating to achieve targets and maintaining positive morale
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Experience in a legal environment or a legal academic background
  • Preferable experience in quantum negotiations or knowledge of tort law
  • Proven ability to:
    • Work to deadlines
    • Handle calls and enquiries from clients, suppliers, or the public
    • Organise and prioritise workload using case management systems
    • Work collaboratively in a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
  • Calmness under pressure
  • Receptiveness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement
