Job summary

Pulse IT Recruitment Ltd in Southampton is seeking a motivated Junior IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line) to join a hands-on helpdesk team. You will assist users, troubleshoot hardware and software, and support Microsoft 365 across client environments.

This full-time role offers training, exposure to MSP environments, travel to client sites, and a path to develop IT skills within a friendly, client-focused company.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year IT support or helpdesk experience.
• Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows 11.
• Familiarity with iOS, Android, networking, routers, firewalls, and switches.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line IT support through the helpdesk and at client sites when required.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and general IT issues.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications, Windows 11, iOS and Android devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
• Manage support tickets, prioritise incidents, and meet SLAs.
• Escalate complex technical issues when necessary.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to users and stakeholders.
• Assist with IT projects, system improvements, and client technology deployments.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and support records.
