Job summary

Microbyte is seeking a 1st/2nd line engineer for its Peterborough Headquarters. The role is mainly office-based with the option of onsite work after probation. Candidates must have prior IT-career experience and excel in high-pressure environments with many daily calls and cases in an MSP/NOC setup.

Role specifics include 08:45–17:30 hours, probation of 3 months, and full UK driving license. Salary is dependent on experience and aligned with a clear progression roadmap; project work

Responsibilities

• Take calls and provide immediate fixes (triage).
• Handle pre-booked support tickets and follow standard procedures.

• Participate in on-the-job training and pursue qualifications (Microsoft, 3CX, Cisco, etc.).
• Support a diverse customer-base and adapt to a fast-paced, international team.
• Develop and follow a clear progression roadmap.

Microbyte is looking for a 1st / 2nd line engineer to join an established MSP with exciting growth plans. This role will be for the Peterborough Headquarters and will mainly be office-based with the option of onsite work after probation. Previous IT-career experience is required, and the candidate will need to demonstrate critical thinking, superb communication skills and problem solving.

THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN A HIGH-PRESSURE ENVIRONMENT INVOLVING MANY CALLS AND CASES EACH DAY. MSP OR NOC EXPERIENCE IS AN ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THIS ROLE.

The role will include:

• Call-taking and immediate fixes (triage)
