Job summary

Excelcare Holdings is looking for an IT Support trainee to join our team at the Bromley head office. This full-time role offers a structured learning path with 4–6 months of on-the-job training in asset tagging, stock management, and basic IT support processes.

You will learn the company asset management system, handle support requests, and progressively participate in hardware installation and user provisioning with guidance from the IT team.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• A genuine interest in computing and IT.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office and related applications.

Responsibilities

• Learn the ordering and invoicing process and credit card statements.
• Receive goods and asset tag items.
• Become proficient in the company asset management system.
• Maintain stock levels of all kit and consumables.
• Build rapport with external suppliers.
• Log and manage end-user IT support requests by phone.

Main Responsibilities:

• Learn the ordering and invoicing process. Credit card statement.
• Receive goods and then asset tag.
• Become proficient in the company asset management system.
• Maintain stock levels of all kit and consumables.
• Build strong rapport with our external suppliers.
• Professionally handle and log incoming support requests from end-users via telephone.
• Identify and become proficient in the software and hardware used and supported by our organization.

Once you have become fully competent in the above. (Approx. 4 - 6 months)

• Assist in setting up new user profiles and deactivating them when needed.
• Participate in hardware installation and configuration.
• Efficiently monitor and manage the ticket queue for incoming requests.
• Prioritise and schedule problems, with the option to upscale issues to the IT Support
• Team or IT Support Manager when necessary.
• Access knowledge bases and FAQ resources on the Extranet/Internet for problem resolution.
• There will be no change in your role for at least 12 months.

Required Skills:

• Good grades in Maths and English (Grade 6 - Grade 8)
• Excellent communication skills are essential.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• A genuine interest in computing
• While prior exposure to the IT office environment is beneficial, we welcome recent school/college leavers with a strong interest in IT.
• A basic understanding of Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office, related applications, and computer hardware is desirable.
