Junior Infrastructure Engineer – Trading Systems

Location: City of London

Challenge: Supporting the infrastructure underpinning top-tier trading systems used by banks, hedge funds, and institutional traders worldwide.

Role Overview:

Quant Capital is urgently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our high-profile client, which has recently been recognized in the fintech 100 (top financial technology companies). The client provides a leading Execution Management System for buy and sell-side clients, including Algo Execution, with offices globally (travel opportunities available).

We are looking for a mid-level Systems Engineer with 2+ years of experience in system, network, or infrastructure support roles.

The primary responsibility of the Infrastructure Engineer is to deliver high-level technical support for the company’s products directly to customers. You will join a dedicated support team within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and collaborate closely with sales and engineering teams.

Daily responsibilities include:

1. Responding promptly to infrastructure and network inquiries from clients.
2. Supporting customers by resolving server issues and network connectivity problems.
3. Improving documentation of support policies and procedures.
4. Analyzing server failures and implementing preventive solutions.
5. Automating server deployment processes.
6. Deploying, monitoring, and maintaining globally distributed data center infrastructure.

Must-have qualifications for Infrastructure Engineer:

• STEM Degree
• 1+ years supporting mission-critical infrastructure
• Red Hat Linux Certification or equivalent
• Experience with AWS
• Knowledge of Ansible
• Hardware setup and maintenance experience
• Some networking experience
• Experience with virtualization
