Job summary

Octagon Group in Southampton is seeking a New Junior FPGA Engineer to join a specialist engineering team responsible for the design, development and enhancement of FPGA and SoC solutions for high-reliability products. The role offers hands-on technical ownership across the full FPGA lifecycle.

You will design, implement and verify FPGA/SoC solutions, develop and simulate VHDL, and work across system-level integration and testing.

Qualifications

• Hardware design experience with FPGA/SoC.
• Proficiency in VHDL and Verilog.
• Experience with FPGA toolchains (Vivado/Quartus/ModelSim).
• Knowledge of SoC devices (e.g. Zynq UltraScale+).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and verify FPGA and SoC solutions.
• Develop and simulate VHDL for complex FPGA architectures.
• Integrate and test FPGA solutions at system level.
• Produce clear design and verification documentation.
• Collaborate with system, electronic, and FPGA engineers.
