Job summary

ACS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer for a UK field-based position with the head office in Rushden. The role offers a £28,000 base salary plus a company vehicle and permanent employment.

You will visit customer sites across the UK and Ireland, performing maintenance, fault diagnosis, installations and customer training. You’ll work on specialist equipment, complete service reports and liaise with the Helpdesk to ensure excellent customer support.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills required.
• Hands-on, practical approach to solving problems on customer sites.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills expected.
• Good IT skills and confidence using electronic systems.
• A full UK driving licence is required.
• Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical faults at customer sites.
• Install, commission and set up new equipment on site.
• Provide end-user training and on-site demonstrations.
• Complete accurate service reports using an electronic system.
• Collaborate with Helpdesk and Customer Service teams to support customers.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment and van stock.
• Engage in ongoing technical training and team initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to support wider commercial activities.
