Job summary

ibse, a well-established and growing MEP building services consultancy in the UK, is seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Wokingham team. You will contribute to electrical design from concept through to completion while collaborating with experienced engineers.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in electrical/building services, 1–3 years of experience, and are proficient with AutoCAD or Revit.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a building services or consultancy environment.
• Good understanding of electrical design principles.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Revit (or similar design tools).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and continue learning.

Responsibilities

• Assisting and contributing to the design of electrical building services systems.
• Producing drawings, calculations and technical documentation with increasing autonomy.
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across a range of projects.
• Attending site visits, surveys and client/project meetings.
• Supporting project delivery to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Developing knowledge of industry standards, regulations and best practice.
• Using design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.

Known for delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions, the business works across residential, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use sectors, partnering with leading architects, developers and contractors on both new build and refurbishment projects.

Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer with some industry experience to develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll take on more responsibility across projects, contributing to electrical design from concept through to completion while working alongside experienced engineers.
