Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join our London Bridge design team, delivering electrical building services from concept through construction on high-profile projects across commercial, residential and mission-critical sectors.

Working with senior engineers, you will produce design calculations, drawings in AutoCAD and Revit, and coordinate with MEP disciplines to ensure compliant, high-quality outputs.

Qualifications

• A degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Ideally 1-3 years' experience within an MEP contractor or Building Services consultancy.
• Good understanding of electrical building services design.
• Experience using AutoCAD, with Revit experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of Amtech, Dialux or Relux would be beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Genuine desire to develop a long-term career within Building Services Design.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical building services systems including lighting, small power, LV distribution, fire alarms, security and data installations.
• Produce design calculations, technical reports and specifications.
• Prepare and develop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical engineers, architects, consultants and project delivery teams.
• Attend design meetings and site visits as required.
• Support project delivery through all RIBA design stages and into construction.
• Ensure designs comply with current regulations, British Standards and client requirements.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced Electrical Design Engineers, you'll play an integral role in the design and delivery of electrical building services solutions from concept through to construction.
