Job summary

ibse is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical building services projects from concept to completion across healthcare, education, commercial, and more. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop long-term client relationships and deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• 4+ years' experience within a Building Services consultancy.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Experience using industry-standard software including Revit, Amtech, Relux or Dialux.
• Chartered Engineer status via CIBSE or IET is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design projects from concept through to completion.
• Act as Project Lead on selected commissions.
• Produce electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Manage project delivery through all design stages and attend client/design team meetings.
• Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support and mentor junior engineers.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Deliver sustainable engineering solutions across diverse sectors.

Role:

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll take ownership of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion, working alongside multidisciplinary teams and developing long-term relationships with clients.

This is a varied role offering genuine responsibility, technical autonomy and the opportunity to influence project delivery while mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading electrical building services design projects.
• Acting as Project Lead on selected commissions.
• Producing electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports.

• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements:

You’ll be an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer with a passion for quality design and delivering exceptional client service.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Around 4+ years’ experience within a Building Services consultancy.
• Experience delivering electrical building services designs across multiple sectors.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Experience using industry-standard software including Revit, Amtech, Relux or Dialux.
• An understanding of HV/LV systems, renewable technologies and sustainable design principles.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Working towards, or already holding, Chartered Engineer status through CIBSE or the IET.
