Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Junior Design Engineer in Staverton, Gloucestershire. You will design, draw, and document components for standard and bespoke products, collaborating with production, sales, customers, and suppliers to translate requirements into practical engineering solutions.

You will develop BOMs, specifications, and technical docs, support manufacturing with design improvements, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards while contributing to continuous

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Previous design engineering experience in manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in CAD software such as Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Create and update engineering drawings for new and existing products.
• Produce bills of materials, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support production teams with technical advice and design improvements.
• Work with customers to understand requirements and provide engineering solutions.
• Assist with product testing, validation, and performance improvements.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source materials and components.
• Investigate technical issues and implement corrective actions where required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and new product development projects.
• Ensure designs comply with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
